SITUATION OVERVIEW

Global tensions have escalated sharply in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Iran has declared a full scale war with the United States. Maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz is deteriorating due to renewed fighting. In Ukraine, long range strike campaigns continue alongside domestic political unrest. Russia continues high intensity operations in Ukraine while deploying new drone technologies. MIDDLE EAST AND MARITIME SECURITY: The Iranian president declared his country is in a full scale war with the United States. The IRGC claimed responsibility for an attack on an Amazon data center in Bahrain. This strike followed a previous strike on the Darkhovin NPP. In the Strait of Hormuz, a tanker crew abandoned their vessel after a projectile strike. Houthis in Yemen are imposing an immediate maritime blockade of Saudi Arabia.
